Vettes-4-Vets® has partnered with the University of Alabama Birmingham to establish and administer a scholarship program for Veteran-students. We have established a $100,000 endowment goal and contributed over $30,000.00 thus far toward the V4V-UAB scholarship fund.
In honor of their military service to the United States of America, scholarships will benefit deserving active-duty or Veterans who are enrolled in, or admitted to a degree-granting program at UAB. The award will be of significant and enduring value to the recipient’s education. As a participant in our fundraising events, especially, the Talladega Superspeedway Memorial Day fundraiser and/or as an independent donor, you help build the scholarship endowment, and we thank you.
The following guidelines are used in awarding and administering the Vettes-4-Vets® Endowed Award.
- Applicants for The Vettes-4-Vets® Endowed Award must be currently enrolled in, or admitted to, a degree-granting program at UAB and must be current or former members of a branch of the United States Military.
- Applicants should demonstrate solid academic promise and have earned at least a 2.5 grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) in any coursework completed prior to the time of application.
- Applicants must have demonstrated leadership with the excellent promise to serve as an inspiration to other students and the community.
